Serrano, a family business founded in 1880 in La Rioja (Spain), offers us this delicious Piquillo Pepper Confit, made entirely with artisanal methods.
During the months of September and October, the Ribera del Ebro orchard is mostly tinted in red. It is then when the highly appreciated Piquillo peppers are harvested at their optimum state of ripeness.
They are then roasted over fire, peeled one by one, caramelised with brown sugar and finally preserved in extra virgin olive oil.
Their delicate sweet and smoky flavour and their special texture make them a real delight on their own, or as an accompaniment to your favourite meat or fish dish.
